For 2015, we have chosen three innovative nonprofits whose good works contribute immensely to our thriving, local community: Milagro House, A Week Away, & Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic. PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING THESE milagro house Milagro House has served the Lancaster Community since 1998 providing education, housing, and counseling to women and their children who are experiencing homelessness. They offer an on-site GED school taught by a certified teacher as well as a post-secondary track, and are the only organization in the community that offers homeless mothers the opportunity to further their education-a key ingredient to obtaining employment and providing a self-sustaining income. milagrohouse.org 70 figlancaster.com worthy causes a week away The mission of A Week Away is to coordinate and finance respites for individuals and their loved ones who are dealing with a life-threatening illness. They can't cure someone's illness, but they can give them the hope to keep fighting. They take care of everything from travel expenses to medical care to lost wages. The burden of battling a life-altering diagnosis does not fall solely on the shoulders of the patient, but on the caregivers and loved ones as well. Their goal: provide a stressfree experience to the whole team. aweekaway.org lancaster cleft palate clinic Winning Smiles Family Golf Day June 14th Are you looking for a fun summer activity? Bring family and friends to our Winning Smiles Golf Day on Sunday, June 14 at Village Greens, Strasburg. Enjoy a lively round of miniature golf and relax with a light lunch (included in the price) while supporting the life-changing work of the Clinic. Tee times at the top of the hour: 10 am, 11 am, 12 noon, and 1 pm. Tickets are: $15 a person or $50 for a foursome.
